Another Saturday night

and we sit home and knit!

This is our iguana, Gorgo. Her cage width is 3 feet, but I am not sure how large she is from tip to tail. She tends to hang out and mess with the cats...

Went to the LYS today and picked up some yarn for our Albuquerque Stitch and Bitch Knit-Along. They had a ball of Opal in the tropical fish color. The yarn should be great to knit the Jaywalker socks with. This will make 3 projects on the needles at once. We aren't starting the knit-along until a week from Tuesday, so I need to finish another knit-along or finish my hubby's scarf before then...

Looks like I am slowly getting over the crud... Going out today did take a lot out of me. It's around 9pm and time to hit the hay...

The purple sweater is finally done!

Here is the finished item. One purple sweater with one kitty cat for good measure. For some reason, the kitties like to get into the pictures of the finished objects, go figure... The kitty in the picture is Fromage.

Hubby is very happy, since this means I can start working on his scarf now!

Not much else going on, I think I am finally starting to get over the crud. I am planning to spend tomorrow at home working on hubby's scarf just to make sure...

Next two projects are the Jaywalker socks and the toe up knit a long...

What day is it???

No clue...

This is a picture of our "Bosque Dog", Roxie and Mewstradamus. No, they don't know that cats and dogs do not get along. They have no clue that they are not supposed to sleep curled up together on the couch. They think this is perfectly normal...

I am still down with this *&$#^$&(# stuff I picked up. Must have been from all of the running around... Time to put on another sweatshirt, get under a blankie and try to get the energy up to do some more knitting...

Man, I really HATE being sick!!!

In keeping with the current trend, here is another one of our fur kids. Her name is Maus (short for Fleidermaus. When she was a kitten, her ears were WAY too big for her body, so we thought she looked like a bat... Since she has grown into her ears, we have shortened it to Maus, for the primary color in her fur. She is a muted Calico)

Man, I really, really, REALLY HATE being sick... I have been taking up valuable real estate on the couch since Tuesday am with something... Monster headache with cough on Tuesday, today the body thought it would be a great laugh to go from being really hot to really cold whenever it felt like it... This sucks!

On the knitting front, I am making some progress on the light purple sweater. I haven't done much work on it since lying down taking naps has been a bit more appealing the last two days. Today, I did attach the arms to the body, so I am now starting the yoke decrease. This time, I think I purchased the correct amount of yarn. If not, I may make a hat or mitties from the extra, depending how much is left over...

Now, I am sitting here, drinking water and watching the Texas/USC National Championship game. If I make it to the 4th quarter, THAT will be a feat!

A good day to sit home...

and watch BOWL GAMES!!!!

This is our old fart, Ziggy... I have been hanging around for the last 15 years, between Florida and New Mexico. My favorite toy is furry rattle mice, and I like any GIRL kitties! Humans are really neat too. I especially like walking on their heads at 3am and giving head butts so they wake up and give me pets and loving...

We just got back from watching our beloved Florida Gators play against the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Outback Bowl... 9am is WAY TOO EARLY to get up on your day off to watch football. The good news, our Gators won, but it wasn't the kind of win anyone wants their football team to have. If you are an Iowa Hawkeyes fan, folks, you really got the shaft from the officials. There were 3 totally bogus calls (in our opinion) including the non-existant offsides call on the onsides kick that should not have happened. I feel like the best team did win, but it is never a good feeling to win a game in that fashion... Having been on the other side of bad calls for many years, we can totally relate. On the positive side, Urban Meyer made one call that showed me he is going to take this team places. On 4th and 1 (in the 4th quarter) on the Iowa 20 yard line, Urban calls a fake punt and gets a first down. NO ONE watching the game with us at Coaches Sports Grille was expecting it! Man, that boy has some big ol' "male reproductive hanging appendages..."

Now, just hanging out watching the Ohio State/Notre Dame game in the Fiesta Bowl. I have been told that watching the whole game will exempt me from attending Mass for a week. If I cheer for Notre Dame, I am exempt for 2 weeks and if they win, I am exempt for a month :-) Go Irish!!!

After watching the game, I took hubby out to our LYS to shop for yarn for his scarf. Here is the progress I have made on his scarf to this point. I am not sure what I am going to do with it, I would like to do some shadow knitting with it, but I am not sure what pattern I will use! Time to let that gel in my mind! We bumped into Scout at Village Wools. She is going to be working on the CUTEST purse!!! Looks like another great future project!

Tomorrow, it's back to work again. The good news, I get to ditch the on-call pager on Wednesday am... That means we can FINALLY open up that bottle of French Champage we got for our anniversary last Saturday and drink it... Yummy!!!

Time to watch the games!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone!!!

As we keep the family introductions going, the top picture is Boris. He is Fromage's brother (we have the 3 brothers and one sister from this litter. Yup , we are a bunch of softies when it comes to kitties). The picture below that one is Ashley (aka Mooch)

Dinner at Zinc last was absolutely exquisite! Where do I begin? We had the brie with wild mushrooms as an appetizer, awesome... My hubby had the goat cheese and blood orange salad, I skipped the salad course. For dinner, the staff was able to put together a vegetarian dish for my hubby (since no veggie dish was on the menu) and I had the tournedos. OH MY GAWD! The tournedos had the most delicious sauce on them, it was out of this world. For dessert, we got the Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake... Words can not do this dessert justice... It was awesome (be sure to pair it up with the Port, it is heavenly!) If you are in Albuquerque and you want a place for a great dining experience, THIS IS THE PLACE!

Yes, Ashley is asleep on the fishtank. She enjoys sleeping up here since it is nice and warm!

Not much going on today, will be staying around the house, lighting a few candles, watching some football and doing some more knitting...
